Now Sneaky have finished their second album, working with Spike Stent of Madonna and Gwen Stefani fame. Like the Scissor Sisters, they’re a pop band whose heart lies in the swirling giddy party attitude of club culture. And like all the best pop bands, they’re a team of distinct personalities and roles. Black Angus, named after a corrupt copper from Oz TV series ‘Blue Murder’, is the musical dynamo, MC Double D is the flamboyant showman with a mic – “Better to be looked over than overlooked,” he says - and Connie, the quirky front woman whose hobbies include fast cars and robot-building, is quite the opposite of a diva. In a time of predictable R&B dross and Luddite indie bands, it’s refreshing to be presented with an ebullient outfit overflowing with such hooky choruses and colourful character.

Pop Life is fittingly titled since Guetta is the one DJ who knows pop isn't a dirty word and whose club nights are open to one and all. “Yeah, some DJs say pop is a dirty word, but I'm trying to be different!” he says. “Of course dance music is pop music! I'm always faithful to my community, but this album also has big, quality pop melodies. It's the best album I've produced. I'm really happy and proud of it."

PNAU are Australian dance music duo Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes. The duo impacted on the scene back in 2000 with their debut album "Sambanova" which went on to go GOLD and won an ARIA Award for Best Dance Release. After their second album "Again" in 2003 (released on Underwater - the label owned by Darren Emerson from seminal dance outfit Underworld), they return with their self-titled third album - their most exciting work to date. The album was mixed by Sam Littlemore (who has worked with Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, and Robbie Williams and includes collaborations with Nick Yannikas (Lost Valentinos), Pip Brown (Ladyhawke) and Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson).

It could be said that electronic musicians have a tendency to obsess over sonic detail in a way that your average garage rock band may find hard to understand. The young Parisian duo Justice (Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay), seem, for the most part, unfettered by niceties such as sonic subtlety or restraint. Combining French-touch house with large doses of heavy-metal hedonism, the group's debut, CROSS, privileges rock's devil-may-care mid-range thrash over electro's low-frequency thump.

The album, in classic rave style, is all about colossal riffs. Whether through its swirling synth sweeps or pile-driving funk loops, CROSS has an insistent, torqued, vaguely druggy quality that's resolutely unsubtle. If the album embraced such high-octane thrills for its entire length, it would surely have overstayed its welcome. But Justice manages to pull out a corker of a pop-crossover hit with "D.A.N.C.E.," the album's first single. Instantly hummable, with its Sesame Street style sing-along chorus, the song is an ebullient, slightly nostalgic nod to '80s electro-funk. Reminiscent of another album that ignited a youth culture revolution (Daft Punk's HOMEWORK), Justice seem intent on winning a new generation over with their head-banging house music.
